Addiction is tricky man.

Updated: Apr 13, 2021

The brain takes quite a bit of time to heal. Even though you say you don't have any desire to use doesn't mean you won't in five minutes. Talking with people, people who are dealing with addiction issues does help. You can learn from other people’s mistakes and they can learn from yours. Until you deal with the actual stuff you used drugs to cover up, you'll still be back and forth. Many people, like myself, say they started using drugs because they liked them, not to hide. But our brain then tells us we know how to feel better when a problem does arise, and that is to use. Don't think that your mom is being mean or trippin. You've most likely lied on many occasions (as I did) and they don't just give us the benefit of the doubt anymore. That trust must be proven to be gained back. I'm not even going to tell you how many times I told my mom that I was done, and then relapsed. I wasn't lying, I meant it, but the effect addiction has on us is wicked. Just be careful man, and even if you slip, get back up and keep making a better life for yourself. You're the only one who can do that!!
