Meet Kim

Born and raised in Detroit, Kim comes from a big family—child number 12 out of 13. Her journey into recovery started with a realization she never saw coming: alcohol had become more than just a habit—it was holding her life hostage. When her health began to fail, especially her liver, she knew something had to change.

A friend offered her a lifeline: a chance to head up north for a fresh start. It was there that Kim found more than just treatment—she found herself. With support and guidance, she began to uncover the reasons alcohol had such a grip on her, and for the first time, she felt understood.

Recovery gave Kim back her purpose. She found joy, strength, and a connection to a higher power that continues to bless her journey. Today, she’s not just living sober—she’s thriving. Now training to become a Peer Recovery Coach, Kim is determined to give back and help others discover the incredible life waiting on the other side of addiction.

Her message is simple but powerful: “Life is wonderful sober—and it’s worth every bit of work.”
