"And my ass HURT!"

Thursday morning, 6:57 am, the alarm is about to go off. Dogs are licking my face. I am not ready to wake up, but they are excited, ready to go outside to pee and eat breakfast. I put them off for a few more minutes till one scratches me in the face. I get up, go to the bathroom, wash my hands, and debate weather to put my glasses on or just to take them out and come back upstairs and get ready. I, for some reason, decided to not find my glasses so I could see and head to the stairs to descend to the front door to let the dogs out. Just like most any other morning, this is the normal routine for the dogs.

When approaching the top of the staircase, I had no other thought that anything today would be different. Little did I know something bigger was planned for me today, like taking the fast track. When I mean fast track, I mean I took the first step down then second step down then what ever happened between picking my other foot up to hit step three, I was up in the air comming down on stair three with my ass and decending the rest of the stair case like I was sledding down a hill. When I arrived at the bottom of the staircase, I was slightly confused about what had just taken place, and 3 set of dog eyes were looking at me like why did you do that Ma? That's not how you go down the stairs! I just sit there for a few minutes, gathering my thoughts, thinking this will hurt later. When I feel time is right to pick myself up from the landing of the bottom of the stairs, thats when I felt the pain.. the shocking pain in my ass, hitting me like little lighting stricks. I wonder if I will have a bruise. Limping like an old lady, I managed to let the dogs outside.

That is how fast your day can knock you off your feet. I was mad at first and wanted to let it ruin the rest of my day. But I went back upstairs, got ready for work, and reset my day. As my day went on, I laughed about it the more I told the story of what happened and saw myself like in the Home Alone Movie. Life still lifes us in soberity; we just have to navigate through it.
