Those Who Smelt It, Dealt It!

I believe I’m officially a “Yooper” now, I went “Smelting” last night for the first time with my wife. I have my own set of waders and fishing license, it’s legit!

Anyone that knows me is aware that I am not your average “outdoorsy” kind of lady. I may have been called “boujee” a time or two, (bad and boujee, bad, bad, and boujee. Sorry, I’m hoping a handful get that!), however, I am certainly down to get my hands dirty. (For the right cause!) Smelting is basically standing waist deep using a large net with small holes, as smelt are tiny yet oh so delicious. And you make an upstream rowing motion, lightly scraping the waters floor. No, we didn’t catch any fish, but we did have fun.

One thing I wasn’t expecting, everyone was drinking. (Besides my wife and I), and there was a solid 15-20 mins that I entertained the idea of drinking a beer or 24. It passed and I lived to tell the tale; I say 1 or 24, because let’s keep it real folks. I go big or I go homeless, there is no in between. And quite frankly I hands down, without a shadow of a doubt am more than happy and content with where life is and where life is going.

1.) Understanding the difference between wants and needs

2.) NOT reopening Pandora’s box

3.) Support

4.) My wife’s laughter (next to Elise’s it’s my favorite sound on this earth)

5.) Trying new things

6.) My trip last weekend downstate, it was perfect 💜❤️

7.) Unconditional love

8.) Elise Corinne 🧩 she’s perfect

9.) Jamie, my wife

10.) My family

I guess what this all sums up to is a couple of the cliches we all loved to hate and grew/grow to love.

This too shall pass, doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome is the definition of insanity, and, stick with the winners. I don’t say it enough or even begin to give my wife half the credit she deserves; she is the epitome of a winner. My biggest and closest supporter (mom, don’t worry. You’ll forever be my longest and dearest), a gentle, kind, compassionate soul, and the strongest and baddest b*tch this side of the bridge 😁😉

Oh, and if no one has told you that they love you today, I love you. Yours truly,

Anna
