This time of year, is busy for everyone, but this year, for me seems more hectic than in years prior. Maybe it's because I am fully present and proactively working towards goals, but regardless this year seems different. In the week of Thanksgiving alone, besides the huge family and football holiday, two of my children and their mother all have birthdays, then of course there is Christmas right after that. I'm down to the last four weeks of the busiest and most demanding semester in college I have taken, so I have finals to prepare for and multiple papers to write and books to finish, along with a project during the week of Thanksgiving as well. I'm also proud to say I am in the process of getting my stuff all sorted out with the Secretary of State, where I will finally get my driver's license back. One of my sons are in the middle of basketball season and the other is starting high school wrestling season practices as of this week, too.
All of these things, just the thought of doing all of them would have previously set me into a frenzy, but amidst all these things going on, I feel like this is when I thrive, I have a routine for school that allows me to get everything done, mostly without having to do much while my kids are with me on the weekends, my jobs allow the same amount of freedom to work and still make it home to them early and when school or sporting events happen, I'm always allowed to go. It took some time since summer ended to get back into the groove of everything, leaving myself feel overwhelmed at times, but I like where I sit today, ready to push on through the end of school, all the birthdays, holidays and into the new year and next chapter in my fast paced and fulfilling life. Until next time.
